Macaroni and Cheese

Plan:
Today (23 of March 2017) in technicraft the we (the year 8 students) made a delicacy meal, Macaroni and Cheese.  Looking at the meal would make a huge jaw drop. However, in my experience, it had quite a bitter after taste to it, coming from the powdered mustard, so i would recommend you to not include the mustard.

The process in making this meal will include:
Ingredients:
1 cup of Macaroni pasta
1 teaspoon of salt
Water

1 tablespoon of flour
½ teaspoon of mustard (optional)
A shake of pepper
⅛ teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of butter
¾ of milk
½ cup of cheese

Materials:
2 saucepans
2 mixing spoons
1 cup
1 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
½ a teaspoon
⅛ teaspoon

Macaroni:
Fill one of your saucepans halfway with water. Then bring to boil. Gradually add 1 cup of macaroni  and cook until soft. Then set aside.
Cheese:
Heat your butter in your saucepan until melted. Then add your milk until smooth. Once done, add the mustard, salt, pepper and flour into the milk until a thick consistency. Add cheese.
Preparation:

Place the macaroni on a Pyrex dish and top with cheese. Ouala you are ready to eat.

Raspberry jam

Plan:
Raspberry jam
Technicraft
Cooking class

In this session the year 8’s had made a preservative type of food to store in a jam from or design brief they made in the last session.

Before doing the process of making jam. Students were informed to rinse the jar with warm water then place in the oven at 100℃. This was to prevent the jar from cracking once the jam has poured into the jar. Students then had to prepare the designated fruits they had chosen. If students chose apples they would have to peel and core apples then boil with a hint of water until mushy. If students decided to use fresh berries they would have to boil it with a bit of water for five minutes then mush it with a fork. Then add the additional ingredients. (see recipe below).

All students are looking forward to our next cooking experiene.
